M365 Account Creation
Beginning Phase: Create M365 User

Validate New Hire IT Access Checklist has been completed.
- P:\IT\Documents and Procedures\Onboarding\New Hire IT Checklist.docx
- Discuss Technology needs with requestor.
- Navigate to https://admin.cloud.microsoft/?#/users
- Select “Add a User”
- Fill out information based on New Hire IT Access Checklist
- Use current “Default password” for new accounts
- Leave the box checked for “Require this user to change their password when they first sign in”
- Select “Next”
Phase 2: Licensing
- Select “Office 365 E3” license
Phase 3: Optional Settings
- ***Do NOT give a user Administrator rights***
- Fill out “profile information” if provided in the New Hire IT Access Checklist.
- Select “Next” then “Finish adding”
Phase 4: Add Distro Groups
- Navigate to user

Select name to open the profile
-
Select Manage Groups
- Assign Memberships based on New Hire IT Access Checklist.

*IF Full-Time: Add Colleague to their Department FT Group.
- **Adding to Department FT Group takes care of any requests to add to “All Staff”.
- *IF Salary: Add to “DPC Salaried Staff” Group.
